AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AN ANNUAL TAX UPON ALL THE TAXABLE PROPERTY VlITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO, FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING-THE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY, 1967, AND ENDING THE THIRTY-FIRST DAY
OF DECEMBER, 1967, OF ~ MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR GENERAL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES,
OF FIVE MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF OILING AND MAINTAINING STREET, OF
TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING A MUNICIPAL FIRE DEPARTME~~,
OF 2 MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING A FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY,
OF-2-- MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING RECREATIONAL PROGRA}!S, ALL
WITHIN THE SAID CITY OF MERIDIAN; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE A CERTIFIED
COpy OF THIS ORDINANCE WITH THE COUNTY TAX COI~ECTOR AND THE COUNTY AUDITOR OF
ADA COUNTY, IDA.HO; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CI'r'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA
COUNTY, IDAHO:-
S~CTION 1: That there be, and there is hereby levied upon all the taxable
property within the corporate limits of the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho; -_
which is taxable by law for State, County, and Municipal purposes, the fOllowfng--
annual taxes for the purpose of raising revenue to defray the necessary expen~eS:-~_
and liabilities to be incurred in the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho,-for ___
the fiscal year commencing on January 1, 1967, and ending December 31, 1967, for--~
the following purposes, to-wit: "." - _ -
1. An annual tax of ~ Mills on the Dollar for general municipal purpo$es_
of the said City of Meridian.
2. An annual tax of Five Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of oiling and -~_
maintaining streets.
3. An annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of maintaining
a Municipal Fire Department.
4. An annual tax of 2 Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of maintaining
a Free Public Library.
5. An annual tax of ~ Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of providing
for and regulating recreational programs.
SECTION 2: That a certified copy of this ordinance shall be by the City Clerk
of the said City of Meridian, certified to the County Tax Collector and to the
County Auditor of Ada County, Idaho.
SECTION 3:: Whereas, there is an emergency therefor, which emergency is
hereby declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
Passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of Meridian,
Ada County, Idaho, this 22nd day of March, 1967.
