ORDINANCE NO. 140
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO, FROM TWO YEARS TO FO~R YEARS COMMENCING WITH THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
ELECTED AT THE NEXT GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION AFTER THIS ORDINANCE BECOMES EFFECTIVE
AND PROVIDING FOR THF; AMENDMENT OF ALL PRE-EXISTING ORDINANCES WHICH ARE IN CONFLICT
HERETO.
WHEREAS, The term of the Mayor of the City of Meridian is two years, and;
WHEREAS, Mayor and the Council of the .city of Meridian are desirous of providing
by Ordinance for the term of office of the Mayor to be extended from two to four years.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TilE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO, PURE\UANT TO CHAPTER 73 OF THE SESSION LAWS PASSED AT THE
38TH SESSION OF THE STATE LEGISLATURE, 1965:

Section 1. That the term of tl).e Mayo;r of the City of Meridian, Ada County, bp
extended from the term of two years" to the' term of four years commencing with the term
of office of the Mayor elected at the next general municipal election after this Ordi-
nance becomes effective and thereafter. . -
Section 2. That all ordinances in effect which may be inconsistent oE',_iri-_con,,:"
