AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AN ANNUAL TAX UPON ALL THE 'l'AXABLI<.; PHO}'J:!;H'l'Y
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF ~HE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO, FOR THE~ FISCAL YF.AR RF.GINNING 'l'RE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY,
1964, AND ENDINq THE THIRTY-FIRST 'DAY OF DECEMBER, 1964, OF TWENTY
MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR GENEBAL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, OF FIVE MILLS
ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF OILING AND MAINTAINING STREETS,
OF TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING A
MUNICIPAL FIRE DEPARTMENT, OF ONE MILL ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING A FREE P~BLIC LIBRARY, OF TWO MILLS ON THE
DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS, ALL
WITHIN THE SAID CITY OF MERIDIAN; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
FILE A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE WITH THE COUNTY TAX
COLLECTOR AND THE COUNTY AUDITOR OF ADA COUNTY, IDAHO; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'l'Y
OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:-
SECTION 1. That there be, and there is hereby levied upon
all the taxable property within the corporate limits of the City
of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, which is taxable by law for
St~te, County and Municipal purposes, the following annual taxes
for the purpose of raising revenue to defray the necessary
expenses and liabilities to be incurred in the City of Meridian,
Ada County, Idaho, for the fiscal year commencing on January 1,
1964 and ending December 31, 1964, for the following purposes,
to-wit:
1. An annual tax of Twenty MilIa on the Dollar for general
municipal purposes of the said City of Meridian.
2. An annual tax of Five Mills on the Dollar for the
purpose of oiling and maintaining streets.
3. An annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose
of maintaining a Municipal Fire Department.
4. An annual tax of One Millon the Dollar for the purpose
of maintaining a Free Public Library.
5. An annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the
purpose of providing for and regulating recreational programs.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be
by the City Clerk of the said City of Meridian, certified to the
County Tax Collector and to the County Auditor of Ada County.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, there is an emergency therefor, which
emergency is hereby declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication as required by law.

City. of Merid ian, Ada County, Idaho, this 2nd day of March, 1964.
