S'rRF.ETS OF THIS CITY, ABANDONED VEHICL3S-0N PUBLIC STREETS, MOVll'JG VEHICLES FOR REPAIR AND CLEANIHG OF STREETS, AND REPAIRING VEHICLES ON PUBLIC STREETS; GIVING THE CHJEF OF POLICE AUTHORITY TO REMOVE VEHICLES, IMPOUND THE SANE AND CHARGE THE COST TO THE OI'JNER THEREOF AND AUTHORIZING THE Crry TO SELL THE SAME AFTER NOTICE AND COSTS ARE UNPAID; D}l~INING TER.M:S AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. - BE IT ORDAINED BY THE HAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO: - SECTION 1. Title 10, Chapter 1 of the Ordinances of the City of Meridian is hereby amended by adding new sections thereto to be numbered and which shall read as follows: I 10-150: CONTINUOUS PARKING: It shaJ,.l be unlawful for any person to leave any vehicle parked continuously in one p-Lace on the streets of this city for a period of 3 days. The Chief of Police shall have aut.hority to not.ify the owner or custodian of _ said vehicle to move the same ~ith:in 10 days, and upon failure of such person to so move such vehicle the Chief of Police shall have authority to move and :i1npound the same and to employ tmch lueans as necessary to accomplish this purpose. Within 5 days after :im- pounding such vehicle the City shall give notice to the owner or reputed owner of such vehicle that he has the right to redeem the same from the City within 30 days by Paying the costs of moving and storage t.hereof. 10-151: FAILURE TO REDEEM - SALE: If the owner or reputed owner of such vehicle fails to redeem same as provided in the pre- ceed:ing section of this ordinance the City shall have the right to sell the same to the highest and best bidder at public auct.ion after first giving one week I s notice of such sale by publication. '-." city streets, when such request is made for the purpose of repair o-r cleaning the streets. If any person owning such a vehicle or having an interest therein refuses such request the City shall have the right to move the same and charge the cost thereof to the owner. "-"- - "- - ... ~ ~..' ~-~~ ~~.... ..~:\ 10-153: REPAmING VEHICLES IN CITY STREETS: It shall be un- lawful for any person to repair any vehicle in the st.reets of this city, except for emergency repairs necessary to move the same to private property. 10-154: VEHICLE DEFINl<.:D: The term "vehiclell as herein used shall mean any automobile, truck, pickup truck, trailer, trailer house, or any other mechanism having one or more wheels, capable of either beillg self-propelled or pulled along the streets of t.hls City-. I 10-155: OTHER PARKING REGULATIONS STILL IN FORCE: The pro- visions of Sections 10-150 and following shall in no \~y effect the other provisions of this chapter relative to parking zones and other rogulat ions. I I Ordinance No. 124, Cont'd 10-156: PENALTY. Any person violating the provlslons of Sections 10-150 through 10-154 inclusive, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. WHEREAS, there is an emergency therefor, which emergency is hereby declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from and after its passge, approval and pub- lication as required by law.
