AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AN ANJjUAL TAX UroN ALL THE TAXABLE PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BID}INNING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1960,
AND ENDING THE THIRTIETH DAY OF APRIL.. 1961.. OF TWENTY MILLS ON
THE DOLIAR FOR GENERAL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, OF FIVE MILLS ON THE
DOLLi-R FOR THE PURroSE OF OILmG AND MAINTAINING STREETS, OF TWO
MnLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINIl\G A MUNICIPAL
FIRE DEPARTMENT, OF ONE MILL ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF
SUPPORTING A FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY, FOR TWO MILLS .ON THE DOLLAR FOR
Tllli PURPOSE OF PROVID:r:NG RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS, ALL WITHIN THE
SAID CITY OF MERIDIAN; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE A CERTIFIED
COpy OF THIS ORDIANCE WITH THE COUNTY TAX COllECTOR AND THE COUNTY
AUDITOR OF ADA COUNTY, IDAHO; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:-
SECTION 1. That there be, ,and there is hereby levied upon all
the taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of -
Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, which is taxable by law for state,
County, and Muhicipal purposes, the following annual taxes for the
purpose of raising revenue to defray the necessary expenses and
liabilities to be- incurred in the City of Meridian, Ada County,
Idaho, for the fiscal year commencing on May 1, 1960 and ending
April 30, 1961, f"or the f"ollowing purposes, to-wit:
1. An annual tax: of Twenty Mills on the Dollar for general
municipal purposes of the said City of Meridian.
2. An annual tax of Five Mills on the Dollar for the purpose
of oiling and maintaining streets.
.3. An annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose
of maintaining a Municipal Fire Department.
.4. An annual tax of One Millon the Dollar for the purpose of
maintaining a Free Public Library.
5. An annual tax. of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose
of providing for and regulating recreational programs.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be
by the City Clerk of the said City of Meridian, certified to the
County tax Collector and to the Cou~ty Auditor of Ada County, Idaho.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, There is an emergency therefor, which
emergency is hereby declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication as required by law.
Passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of-the
City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, This 11th day of July, 1960.
