AMENDING TITLE X.. CHAPl'ER 1, ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN,
BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE DESIGNATED SECTION 10-150,
DEFINING NIDLIGENT DRIVING AND PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERID IAN, ADA COUNTY.. IDAHO:
Section 1. That title X, Chapter 1 of the Ordinances of
the City of Meridian be and the same i6 hereby amended by adding
a new section thereto to be designated Section 10-150, to read as
follows:
10-150: NEGLIGENT DRIVING--PENALTY.--It shall be unlawful
for any person to operate a motor vehicle in a negligent manner
over and along the public streets of this city. For the purpose
of this section to "operate in a negligent manner" shall be con-
strued to mean the operation of a vehicle upon the public streets
of this city in such a manner as to endanger or ~e likely to
endanger any persons or porperty.
Any person violating the provisions of this section shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and in addit~on to the punishment
prescribed for such offense in there ordinances the convicted per-
son's driver's license may be suspended for a period not exceed-
ing 3 months in the discretion of the Police Judge.
Passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the
City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho.. this 6th day of January..
1958.
