AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AN ANNUAL TAX UPON ALL THE TAXABLE PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF-"THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1956,

SUPPORTING A FRI':E PUBLIC LIBRARY, FOR TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR
THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS, ALL WITHIN TIm SAID
CITY OF MERIDIAN:
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE A CERTIFIED COpy 011' THIS ORDINANCE
WITH THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR AND THE COUNTY AUDITOR OF ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:-
SECTION 1. That there be, and there is hereby levied, upon
all the taxable property within the corporate limits of the City
of-Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, which is taxable by law for State,
County and Municipal Durposes, the fallowing annual taxes for the
purpose of raising revenue to defray the necessary expenses and
liabilities to be incurred in the City of Meridian, Ada County,
Idaho, for the 1'iscal year commencing on May 1, 1956, and ending
April 30, 1957 1'or the following purposes, to-wit:-
1. An annual tax 01' Twenty Mills on the Dollar for general
municipal purposes of the said City of Meridian.
2. An annual tax of. Five Mills on the Dollar for the pur-
pose of oiling and maintaining Streets.
3. An annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose
of maintaining a Municipal Fire Department.
4. An annual tax of One Millon the Dalla r for the purpose
01' Maintaining a Free Public LiQrary.
5. An annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose
of providing for and regulating recreational programs.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, T1::_'3:-:>8 is an~ emergency therefor, which
emergenoy is hereby declared to exist, this Ordin~nce shall take
effect and be in force and effect from and after ltS passage,
approval and pUblication as reQuired by law.
Passed by the City Council and ~ appr:::"\Tl'~r'l_ by the Mayor of the
City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, this 9th day 01' July, 1956.
