AMENDING TITLE VIII, CHAPTER V OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF MERIDIAN BY CHANGING THE CURFEW HOURS TO 11:00 O'CLOCK
P.M. TO 5:00 O'CLOCK A.M. FOR PERSONS UNDER 16 YEARS O~' AGE
FIXING CURFEW. HOURS. FROM 12 O'CLOCK MIDNIGHT TO 5:00 O'CLOCK A.M.
FOR PERSONS.BETm;]:;N 16 AND 18 YEARS QFAGE; RAISING THE AGE OF
JUVENILE DELINQUENCY FOR VIOLATION TO 18 YEARS, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO;-
Section 1. That Title VIII, Chapter V of the Revised Ordi-
nances of the City of Meridian, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
, 8-501: ESTABLISHING AGE FOR TIME LIMIT: It shall be unlawful
for any person under the age of sixteen (16) years to be or to re-
. main, and t t shall be unlawful for any parent, guardian, or other
person having the Care and custody of any person under the age of
sixteen (16) years, to allow or per.mit such persons to be or to
remain, in or upon any street, alley, or pUblic ground within the
corporate limits of the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, ***
between the hours of 11:00 o'clock P.M. and 5:00 o'clock A.M. ***

S-502: EXCEPTIONS: The provisions of 8-501 of this Chapter
shall not apply to any person who is accompanied by his or her
parents, guaraian, or other adult person having the care and
costody of him or her, nor to any person who is in the performance
of an errand or duty directed by his or her parents, guardian, or
other Adult person having the care and custody of him or her, nor
to'any persoh who is actually at the time engaged in legitimate
employment for profit.
8-50): UNDER AGE VIOLATOR DEEMED JUVENILE DELINQUENT: Any
person under the age of * eifhteen * (lS) years violating the pro-
visions of this Chapter shal be deemed a juvenile delinquent
under the laws of the State of Idaho.
S-504: PENALTY FOR PARENT OR GUARDIAN: Any parent, guardian,
or other adult person having the care and custoay of any person
under the age or *eighteen*l18J years who shall violate the pro-
visions or this Chapter,' upon conviction thereo!", shall'be punishable
by a rine in any sum not exceeding one hundred dollars ($lOO.OO)
WHEREAS, There is an emergency therefor, which emergency is
hereby declarea to exist, this Ordinanc e shall take eft'ect and be
in rorce and effect from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication as required by law.
