AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AN ANNUAL TAX UPON .ALL THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITH-
IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO, FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, ],,951, .AND ENDING THE
THIRTIETH DAY OF APRIL, 1952, OF TWENTY MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR GENER-
AL MUNIC IF AL PURPOSES, OF FOUR MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF
OILING AND MAINTAINING STREETS, OF ONE MILL ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE
OF MAINTAINING A MUNICIPAL BAND, OF TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF MAINTAINING A FIRE DEPARTMENT, OF ONE MILL ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING A FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY, OF TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR
FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS, ALL WITHIN THE SAID

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF.
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:-
SECTION L. That there be, and there is hereby levied., upbn' all __
the taxable property within the corporate limits of the City "of -Meri.d'i'an"
Ada County, Idaho, which is taxable by law for State, County, and _. <\-'
Municipal purposes, the following annual taxes for the purpose of .
raising revenue to defray the necessary expenses and liabilities to
be incurred in the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, for the fis-
cal year commenoing on Mayl, 1951, and ending April 30th, 1952, for
the following purposes, to-wit:-

1. An annua~ tax of Twenty Mills on the Dollar for general
muni.cipal purposes of the said City of Meridian.
2. An annual tax of Four Mills on the dollar for the purpose
of oiling and maintaining streets.
3. An annual tax of One Millon the dollar for the purpose ot
maintaining a Munioipal Band.
4. An annual tax of two mills on the Dollar for the purpose of
maintaining a Municipal Fire Department.
5. An annual tax of One_ Millon the Dollar for the purpose of
maintaining a free pUblic library.
6. An annual tax of Two Mllls on the Dollar for the purpose of
providing for and regulating recreational programs.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be, by
the City Clerk of the said City of Meridian, certified to the County
Tax Collector and to the County Auditor of Ada County, Idaho.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, there is an emergency therefor, which emer-
gency is hereby deolared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force and effect from and atter its passqge, approval and publi-
cation as required by law.
