ORDINANCE NO. 57.
AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF MONEY FOR ALL THE NECES-
SARY EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF TEE CITY OF MERIDIAN ,ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1951,
AND ENDING THE THIRTIETH DAY OF APRIL, 1952, THIS ORDINANCE BEING
KNOWN AS THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:-
SECTION 1. The following sums of money, or so much thereof
as may be necessary, are hereby appropriated out of any money in
the C~ty tressury of the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, not
otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of defraying any and all
necessary expenses and liabilities of the said Oity of Meridian to
be incurred for general-municipal purposes for the fiscal year
commencing the 1st day of May, 1951, and ending the 30th day of
April, 1952, said purposes being as follows, to-wit:-

SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated but of any
money in the City Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum
of Ten Thousand Vo1lars (~lO,OOO.OO), for the purpose of oiling
and maintaining the streets in the said city of Meridian.
SECTION). That there is hereby appropriated out Of any
money in the City Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum
of Nine Hundred Seventy Dollars ($970.00), for the purpose of
Maintaining a Municipal Ban~ in the said ~ity ot Meridian,
SECTION 4. That there 1s hereby BP.propr1ated out of any
money in the City Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum
of One ThOUSand Nine Hundred .orty-five Dollars (81,945.00), for
the purpose of maintaining a Municipal Fire Department in the said
City of Meridian. '
SECTION 5. That there is hereby appropriated out of any money
in the City Treasury, mot otherwise appropriated, the ~um of Nine
Hundred Seventy Dollars ($970.00), for the Purpose of Supporting a free
pUblic library~ heretofore established and now operating as such in the
said City of Meridian, by the Oooident Club, an Idaho Corporation,
having legal Authority by its Articles of Incorporation to acquire, own
and conduct such free public library. '
SECTION 6. That there is hereby appropriated'out of any money in
the City Treasury, not otherwi.. a~propriated, the sum of One Thousand
Nine Hundred Forty-five DOllars, ($1,945.00), to provide for and regu-
late recreational programs in ~he said City of Meridian.
SECTION 7. The amount of money derived from funds or sOUrces creat-
ed by law for'the specific purposes 1n this Ordinance provided, is
hereby appropriated for such purposes and no other:

authorized, upon presentation of proper vouchers approved by the Mayor

SECTION 10. WHEREAS, There is an emergency therefor, which emer-
-gancy is declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force trom and atter its passage, approval and publication as required
by law.
Passed by the City Council and ap~~qved by the Mayor of the City
of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, this ~day of August, 1951.
