To The City of Meridian, During the original approval of the Costco Development, by the City Council, it was very apparent during the meetings that the City had already made its mind up, before hearing comments from concerned citizens on the potential approval of this development. One of the key points of this approval had been to limit the truck traffic to a specific window of time to minimize the disturbance to surrounding homes. Costco has clearly been in violation of this approved timeframe, as trucks are accessing the site during non-truck-traffic time windows and Costco is now looking to expand their timeframe for this access. Please let it be known that we are strongly opposed to this shift of the truck delivery timeframe. Costco has already been in violation of this requirement and the City has done nothing. Costco was held to minimal regulations for the surrounding development, concerning noise and truck traffic. We need to see to it that these corporations aren’t allowed to do as they please and can ignore the regulations that the the City Council had already set forth. As a concerned Meridian City Citizen, a voter and Bainbridge Resident, I urge the City to deny this request and enforce what was originally agreed to.
