This application is in regard to obtaining a conditional use permit for a"recreational facility"in the I-L
zone in a newly constructed multi-tenant flex building.
While this location is in the industrial zone,it is surrounded by commercial and various residential
densities. The future land use designates it as"Mixed Use—Non Residential",buffering the future
"Mixed Use—Community"from strictly industrial,of which a recreational facility would comply. By
allowing a gym at this location,it would benefit the community by offering services within walking
distance for some and a non-typical commercial strip use as a destination. The tenant, Black Box VR
Fitness,offers an innovative concept,offering the public an immersive gaming experience while
achieving the benefit of a work out.
As the population and urban trend of Meridian continues to grow,the proximity of such a favorable
alternative to tiresome exercise routines is congruent with a long-lasting healthier future for the City's
residents and surrounding community.
