The City of Meridian has requested feedback regarding the proposed annexation with zoning
of R-8 (Medium density Residential) and a preliminary plat for the Bordeaux Estates
Subdivision, which will consist of 4 detached single-family homes and 1 common lot on 2.23-
acres located at 5665 N Meridian Road, within the City's Area of City Impact.
Ada County is supportive of the application due to the proximity of the site to existing public
services. Goal 2.2f of the Ada County Comprehensive Plan encourages residential development
to occur at urban densities within Areas of City Impact where public facilities are
available. As the Future Land Use Map of the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, as adopted by
Ada County,designates the site as Medium Density Residential, which is primarily intended for
single-family homes at densities of three to eight dwelling units per acre. The proposed density
of 2.13 dwelling units per acres does not meet the intended density,however,with the site being
limited to taking access to W Producer Drive via a private common drive that is through an
easement, the proposed application is compatible with the Comprehensive Plan.
