Dear Sonja-
I am reaching out to you regarding planning proposal to open Titanium Avenue off Victory and Eagle.
My parents reside in the senior living community on the corner of Eagle and Victory called The Pointe.
They would be directly impacted as well as the other residents by opening this street and making it a
throughfare.
My parents live in the cottages for independent living. They use the main facilities and must cross
Titanium Avenue at least three times a day. That is the same case for all the residents of the cottages.
Because it is a retirement community you have many people using walkers and canes to assist in getting
to the building. My siblings and I are concerned that opening Titanium Avenue would create a constant
flow of traffic that raises concerns for their safety.
My dad is 87 and my mom is 82 and it was a very hard process and emotionally tough to move my
parents from living in their house to a retirement community. The main driving factor was to move
them to a place where they would be safe and have all of the services they needed to remain as
independent as possible. In our search we found that The Pointe was tucked into its own community
which offered us comfort that they would be safe.
I hope you will consider the community and the average age of the residents that would be put in
possible harm's way if Titanium Avenue opens to the North. I appreciate any consideration you can give
to keeping the road closed as it is now.
Thank you,
Ja ie McCormick
