Good morning, my name is Jodi Anderst Keuhey and I am a proud and grateful Idaho native. I am writing in opposition of the idea of adding apartments/high density housing to the vacant land north of Rite Aid on Victory and Eagle Road. I am a business owner and a homeowner within 1 mile of this area. Every day I experience that extreme traffic that is backed up from Lake Hazel all the way to the on ramp of the interstate. Some mornings I will spend 3 to 5 light cycles just getting through an intersection, such as Victory/Eagle intersection. I know the construction on Locust Grove is a contributing factor however, traffic was still what I consider very bad prior to that construction starting. We don’t need more residences in this area, that’s all there is here. We call it “rooftop city”. We need retail, restaurants, small stores, small businesses. Retail would definitely be a pleasant addition to the area versus residential, which would be no positive addition to an already primarily residential area. Haven’t there been enough apartments built in Meridian in the last three years? I appreciate your time in reading my opinion, I am also speaking on behalf of my husband, Ryan Keuhey.
