I was very sad to hear about the proposal for this development. Please consider the extreme negative impact it is going to have on Meridian residents already living in the area.  Traffic is already a major concern for those that have to travel on Eagle – heavy volume on Eagle with major backups at the roundabouts and traffic lights all the way from Lake Hazel to Fairview and beyond. Inability to access Eagle from neighborhoods now – delays up to 10 minutes to get onto Eagle from Taconic (Sky Mesa) and Tuscany streets. Residential complexes currently underway south of Lake Hazel will be adding even more traffic and the ACHD plans for Eagle from Amity to Lake Hazel will make Eagle even more dangerous to drive on (as witnessed by the increased number of accidents at the roundabout on Amity and the non-compliance with School crossing speed reduction area at Taconic).  Proposal is to have 2 commercial pads which in the developers words will provide the new residents with the opportunity to shop and dine in their area without having to drive. Those two small commercial pads must be going to have very tall commercial buildings to provide everything that the residents will need without having travel anywhere as the only commercial properties in that area is a pharmacy and a new drive-thru coffee shop.  The south end of Meridian is currently very underserved with shopping, restaurants, fuel, and retail. How is adding more residents going to help get this area of Meridian functioning as a desired area to live in in Meridian? Traffic again is the main concern because the roads are very busy now and to get to any restaurants in Meridian it takes daring to get on the roads in the evening – and if you want to have just one drink with dinner it is dangerous to drive home.  The impact on the schools in this area will also be negatively impacted – some are currently overcrowded and more students will not help.  Please make Meridian a great place to live – not just a commuter/bedroom community as it is becoming. There are so many developments happening in the Boise/Meridian area that more buildings and housing are not as needed as originally thought since growth is slowing. Do we really want unoccupied/low occupancy buildings in this community or do we want a robust community filled with people who love living in Meridian?  Sent from Mail for Windows 1
