Subject:Opposed to Artisan Victory Market H-2022-0066

To whom it may concern:
I am writing to express my opposition to the Artisan Victory Market apartment complex that is proposed to be
built on the corner of Victory and Eagle. I have lived in south Meridian for most of my life and have thoroughly
enjoyed it. I currently live on Zaldia Ln. off of Eagle Rd. between Victory and Amity, and while I do miss the
wide open fields that used to surround my home, I understand that the development of some of those fields
was ultimately inevitable.
I am concerned that the area proposed for development for the Artisan Victory Market does not have the
infrastructure necessary to support additional apartment buildings. A primary concern is that our roads cannot
support another apartment complex in this area of Meridian. I commute to downtown Boise for work. Most
mornings, it takes me longer to drive along Eagle Rd. from Zaldia Ln. to Overland Rd. than it does for me to get
from the freeway onramp on Eagle Rd. to downtown Boise. Most of my commute time is spent stopped in
horrendous traffic on Eagle Rd. The longer I spend sitting in traffic, the less time I have to spend with my family
and build other meaningful relationships.
There’s a reason why Meridian has grown so quickly. It is a beautiful place to live, and it is filled with wonderful
people. But there is a balance that must be carefully maintained in order to preserve this quality. From this
point forward, the more housing that gets built in south Meridian, the more congested the roads get, the more
crowded the schools get, the more traffic accidents there are, the more crowded the limited number of stores
are, and the less desirable it is to live here. Meridian is currently an amazing place to live, and the city council
has an incredible amount of power to keep it this way. The city council needs to withstand the pressure of
developers to overdevelop Meridian; the city council needs to take a stand for the people who are already
living here and preserve the beautiful community that we have.
I implore the Meridian city council to recognize that the Artisan Victory Market is not in Meridian’s best interest
and could cause issues for those who have already made south Meridian their home. We are desperate to
prevent Meridian from becoming more congested and losing the wonderful quality of life that it currently
provides.
Thank you for your consideration,
Connor Stiles
