Hi,
I am writing in to oppose the apartment complex. There are several reasons, I am sure most are going to complain about
traffic and I agree. The road improvements that have happened to eagle south of victory were to address the EXISTING
needs. They aren’t addressing the future needs such as apartment complexes and duplexes.
Parking- in looking at the plans it appears parking is inadequate for the amount of people living in the complex. They
should remove a few complexes and add additional parking to address the parking needs.
Diversity - every time I look around I see duplexes and apartment complexes going up significantly more compared to
single family homes. People argue that these units are “more affordable” but it isn’t when pricing out cost per sq ft. They
are usually more expensive. Let’s see some single family homes be put in this area on 1/3 acre lots.
Water - it is an issue, are the council members looking at our Idaho snowpack report and reservoir levels weekly? It isn’t
good. That’s where our water is coming from for landscaping and I see quite a bit of landscaping in this plan. How about
our aquifers? less shallow aquifers are running dry in these areas. We have been assured the deeper aquifers are in
good shape….but how long is that for? I feel we are looking at the needs of today, not 20-30-40-50 years from now. We
need to look to the future.
Let’s compromise on less dense housing. It’s less stress on our environment, our roads, our existing infrastructure.
Thanks,
Chris Paul
