Dear Meridian City Council members: We are writing to express our concerns regarding Artisan Victory Market proposed. 1. The traffic on S. Eagle is already bumper to bumper crawl even around 10 am from Victory to Overland. Without proper road improvements, the new property adding more cars would be an irresponsible development. 2. The opening of Titanium Road with potential traffic of 150 cars will basically cut our tiny neighborhood, The Village at Sutherland, into half. We have elderly neighbors walking their dogs the length of Girdner Dr. which will be cut in half. Neighbors standing and chatting at the mailbox collection on Titanium Rd won’t be safe any more. The new traffic to reach Eagle Rd, Overland and Cloverdale via Titanium and Easy Jet will turn our quiet wider-neighborhood into busy through-streets. Most of the new traffic should be routed to Eagle Rd directly or to Victory for safety of people currently in the residential area. 3. The new traffic going through Titanium and Girdner will also endanger children playing in the neighborhood. There are at least six homes on Girdner where small children from preschool age to middle school playing on their drive ways and streets. If the new development must happen, it would be desirable to include a playground for children and a dog park to be shared between the two neighborhoods. 4. When we bought our house from the builder, Berkeley, it was disclosed that they had the first right to purchase the alpaca ranch. So our expectation was that our neighborhood would be extended with similar houses should the ranch be sold. We did not expect multi-housing rental property adding 150 cars to our streets. Some neighbors suggested that it would be best to turn the property into a city park which would add no more traffic to Eagle but add some tranquility in otherwise hectic area. Thank you for your considerations. Sincerely, Phil Lee Heang-ok Lee 1
