Ada County is supportive of the proposed annexation as it is compatible with Goal 2.2 of the Ada County Comprehensive Plan, which encourages urban development be directed to Areas of City Impact where investments in urban services have already been made. The Future Land Use Map of the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, as adopted by Ada County, designates the site as Mixed-Use Regional, which is intended to provide a mix of employment, retail,residential dwellings, and public uses near major arterial intersections, and as the general intersecting area includes the new proposed SH-16 extension, it is supported by the proposed multi-family residential that supports other proposed development in the area. The proposed multi-family development is supported by many goals of the Meridian comprehensive plan, as adopted by Ada County. Goal 2.01.00, which encourages a balance and integration of diverse housing and neighborhood types, and Goal 2.01.01, which encourages diverse housing options for various income levels, household sizes, and lifestyle preferences.
