Broadway, Suite 210 - Meridian, Idaho 83642 Meeting Minutes – November 14, 2022 Call to Order: The Meridian Rural Fire Protection District meeting for November 14, 2022, was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Commissioner Ward. Roll call was taken. Roll Call: Attendees: Commissioner Marv Ward, Commissioner Derrick Shannon, Chief Kris Blume, Attorney John Fitzgerald, Laura Fitzgerald Approval of Agenda: Motion was made and seconded to approve the meeting agenda as presented. Motion approved. Approval of the Minutes: Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the October 10, 2022. Motion approved. Treasurer’s Report: Provided by Commissioner Shannon in Commissioner Randy Howell’s absence: •Approve and pay bills as follows: •Check #5449, John O. Fitzgerald, $836.24, General Legal Services, Invoice #2022-10 •Check #5450, Kathleen Roma & Associates, $258.75, Accounting & Payroll Services, Invoice #68912 •Check #5451, Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District, $1,055.06, (4) Watertower properties Irrigation Fees, Asmts#1045-1-2,3,4,5 •There is no check paid to the City of Meridian this month as the city Finance office is waiting for all year-end accounting and spending to clear. MRFPD will pay two months next monthly cycle. Meridian Rural Fire Protection District 33 E. Broadway, Suite 210 - Meridian, Idaho 83642 Meeting Minutes – November 14, 2022 •Current net cash position is currently $4,912,599.19 •LGIP $4,855,182.53 •US Bank $57,416.66 •LGIP statement and US Bank Statements reconciled for Month of September. Submitted to Commissioner Ward to sign. Old Business: •Chief Blume provided updates on Stations 7 & 8. Both stations are on track with established timelines and on budget. Still on target for opening in late September or October 2023. Meridian Parks Department has secondary road placed for parks and station. •Nine lateral hires for Meridian Fire will finish their fire academy week of Thanksgiving and the next nine hires will start their fire academy January 16, 2023. •Placeholder topic of future use of existing water tender. Will discuss as we get closer to receiving the new water tender. Regional for use of such equipment and value of the equipment. •All administrative hires for the City of Meridian Fire Department are in place and in position. •Chief Butterfield is moving into the Deputy chief of Administration this week. New EMS Coordinator started in position today and interviews underway for the Ops Chief position. •No other old business discussed New Business: •Commissioner Shannon submitted 2023 MRFPD Monthly meeting dates. Dates and time established will be the second Monday every month at 4:00PM MT located at Meridian City Hall 2nd floor Fire Conference room except for the Annual MRFPD Budget Hearing on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 6:00PM MT in the first floor City Council Meridian Rural Fire Protection District 33 E. Motion Approved. •Meridian Fire Lateral Graduation December 1, 2022 6:00PM MT at Public Safety Training Center on Watertower. Chief Blume confirmed. •Meridian Fire Christmas on December 8, 2022 6:00PM MT Senior Center Kleiner Park. Chief Blume confirmed. •No other New Business. Motion was made (Commissioner Ward) and seconded (Commissioner Shannon) to adjourn the November 14, 2022, meeting of the Meridian Rural Fire Protection District. Motion approved. The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 PM MT.
