Please include this email with the other responses in regards to the above-stated plan which will be the topic of concern at the City Council Meeting scheduled for 10/20/22. We, Jeff Leaton and Pam Leaton reside in the Strada Bellissima Subdivision off of Victory and S. Meridian Road. We have attended a few of the zoom meetings regarding this proposed development, and we were also very involved in 2020 when this same property was under discussion and subsequently DECLINED by Meridian Planing and Zoning. At that time, after deliberations by Meridian, they concluded that Victory Road was at capacity due to the configuration, and that the Ridenbaugh Canal and Victory Road were not scheduled for evaluation for ten years, which we believe is the number one reason previous developments were denied. Since that time there has been another subdivision built on the banks of the canal, making an even larger problem to move the canal. Opposite the new subdivision and the canal, where Bear Creek sits, the houses are below the water level of the canal. Even currently, standing water crosses Victory Road during times of excess precipitation or irrigation. Without a solution to the above, there is no way to add additional lanes to Victory Road. Any alternate route, sends traffic to Stoddard and a school zone and park area where children are coming and going. 1
