My name is Kenneth Phillips and I reside at 291 W Fortini Street, Meridian in the Strada Bellissima Subdivision. I strongly
oppose the planned project Ho-2022-0051 at the corner of Victory and Meridian for the following reasons:
1. The City lacks adequate road infrastructure to accommodate this development.
2. The lot is currently not zoned for this type of development.
3. The proposed development would only have one access in and out and that is right across from Strada Bellissima
where we access Victory.
4. Allowing the developer a change in zoning from low density to medium density housing would cause an extreme
public safety issue;
a. Traffic trying to get onto Meridian is already backed up tremendously during peak traffic times making it
very difficult to get onto Victory from Strada Bellissima. This development would only make it worse.
b. Out of frustration, people would use Strada Bellissima as a route to avoid the line and back up The
amount of traffic Strada Bellissima and Bear Creek Subdivisions would develop as a result of it would be dangerous to
children and pedestrians creating public safety breakdown.
5. The developer was turned down for a zoning change (Aug 2020) and now is hitting the city up again for nearly the
same thing. The traffic conditions due to added housing developments are worse now than then.
6. The owner of this property has the financial means to purchase land that is zoned for this type of development and
the City should not approve such a zoning change.
7. To my knowledge there have been no impact studies on this project.
Officials are appointed by the Citizens and their job is to protect citizens and represent the interest of the citizens
especially when it applies to Public Safety issues. Thank you for DECLINING this request.
