As a resident of the Bear Creek neighborhood, I would like to voice my opinion vehemently against this project. There
has been so much growth in the South Meridian area, that our infrastructure is struggling to keep up.
Victory road is already a traffic jam at commute times, and adding the high density rental units would add to that as well
as increase traffic through neighborhoods by people looking to get through in a hurry (which no one wants people
speeding through their neighborhoods, or even excess traffic of strangers in their neighborhoods). The new
development just down Victory from this location has been formed into a neighborhood, but the building hasn't started
yet- once that building starts there will be even more traffic and issues that most likely haven't been taken
into consideration.
Our schools are already overcrowded, and if any of these are family rentals, that would impact our schools. My kids got
moved from Mary McPherson to Peregrine (which there are several issues with), because of the growth in this
area. Now my kids have a 20-30 min drive to and from school because they can't attend the school that is literally 5
minutes down the road.
There is no rush to develop every piece of open land within the city's limits. Please slow it down, and allow for some
nature, and to hear the voice of the people that will be impacted by these decisions. Please have a moratorium on
developments within the city limits. Let the dust settle, literally and figuratively, and see how well we are equipped to
deal with how much we have already approved and all of the growth that is happening so quickly.
Thank you for your kind consideration of this matter,
Karissa Young
