Dear Meridian City Council Members, I am writing to you to oppose the multi family development that Ball Ventures wants to put in on the southwest corner of Meridian Rd and Victory Rd. I have lived in this area for over 25 yrs. My husband and I moved to this area of Meridian because it was in “the country”, but still close enough to the freeway to get into Boise for work. I am in opposition to this development because a lot of Meridian is being built up and we need more open spaces. Also, it is a great place to watch birds. I hear that local endangered birds are frequently seen in this area. I believe having a calm open space in Meridian will be a great asset to the city. With all of the craziness that is going on in the world today, wouldn’t it make sense to have a calm place where people can go to experience nature, or at least look at it and the birds. More housing is not calm, it is chaotic. Another reason I have, is that right now it is very difficult to get onto Victory Rd from Strada Bellissima to turn left and get safely onto Meridian Rd. It is next to impossible in the morning. More traffic would definitely make things worse and create more frustration and accidents. Already the intersection at Meridian and Victory has quite a few accidents. Usually, more people equals more accidents. Thank you for your time and it is my hope that your decision will be to deny the building of the multi family development. Thank you, Shanna Gardiner 1
