To Whom it May Concern: I strongly oppose any change to the zoning for lands concerning H-2022-0051 from what it is currently to one that allowed a denser population build. As it is, the area in question abuts busy intersections with few choices to dilute the traffic. Having a denser population build in that area would further degrade an already challenging traffic area to the point it would be made dangerous. Any solutions proposed would probably try to dilute that danger argument by suggesting right turn only rules which would have one believe most people would be heading to Kuna for work (not the case) or that most people would obey those rules (unfortunately also not likely) which would lead to the likelihood of very serious accidents on a high speed road (Meridian Road). I am not at all opposed to apartments being built in the area since we have many complexes built around us and I have never voiced concern or disapproval; however, this lot would be the wrong place to have another dense population build. In a perfect world I think the land is well placed for a city park given the large population already in the surrounding area without that kind of open use space available. If Meridian is to be a city to be proud of, versus one content to just continue suburban sprawl, it would be nice to hear of efforts toward this end (there may be some, and if so, great but I have not heard of the effort). In conclusion, I sincerely request you reject any change to the zoning for the land in question rather than make an already busy traffic area completely unsafe and maddening. Sincerely, Michael J Steege (resident of the Bear Creek subdivision in Meridian) 1
