I respectfully ask that you please decline to approve the proposed plan for 134 multi-family rental homes which would be commercially owned on the southwest corner of Victory and Meridian crossroads. As it is currently, traffic on Victory and Stoddard are backed up in the mornings and afternoons when school is starting and ending for the day. I have sat through multiple light changes at Meridian road from Victory waiting to turn north on Meridian road. Another concern is the increase in traffic along Stoddard and Victory during the school day. I saw yesterday that the children are running across Victory road with no crosswalk or light crossing light in place. It is already a hazard that needs to be addressed, and adding more traffic to the area will be additional cause for concern if more traffic is added to Victory road, which would be likely if additional housing were added without sufficient egress to these homes. It is my understanding that the current plan is not compatible with the future land use map and egress will be a problem. The developer stated as the last meeting that I attended that there would be a turn lane going south on Meridian road. Unfortunately, most traffic goes toward Boise so that would be cause for further congestion south on Meridian road. The multiple subdivisions being added to that area south of Victory along Meridian road will also increase the congestion and increase the probability of automobile accidents. The addition of more students to an already crowded school system must be addressed also. The schools are already struggling to find personnel for the available positions and adding increased housing in the area without a plan for the school will exacerbate the problem. With these concerns in mind, a better use for the property may be a nature reserve, as has been proposed in the past. Environmentally, with the canal adjacent to the property, it would be a haven for multiple species that have had their environments reduced by the additional subdivisions in the area. Thank you for consideration of these concerns. Please do not add additional density to the area without the infrastructure to handle it. Fran Rogien 990 W Victory Road Meridian Sent from my iPad 1
