STANDARD NOTES FOR REVISED 3/1/18
RESIDENTIAL/COMMERCIAL SUBDIVISIONS AND
COMMERCIAL PROJECTS WITH PUBLIC MAINS
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION
1. ALL CONSTRUCTION WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE IDAHO STANDARDS FOR
PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION (ISPWC), THE CITY OF MERIDIAN SUPPLEMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS TO THE ISPWC (AND ANY
ADDENDUMS), MERIDIAN DESIGN STANDARDS, THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ADA COUNTY HIGHWAY DISTRICT (ACHD),
AND/OR THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE IDAHO TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT (ITD). THE MORE STRINGENT OF ANY OF
THEE STANDARDS SHALL BE THE CONTROLLING STANDARDS OR SPECIFICATIONS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE A COPY OF THE LATEST CITY OF MERIDIAN STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS ON
SITE OR READILY ACCESSIBLE AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION (AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE). FAILURE TO HAVE
ACCESS TO A CURRENT COPY OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS ON SITE COULD BE GROUNDS FOR A STOP WORK
ORDER UNTIL THE SITUATION IS RESOLVED.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE PLANS STAMPED "APPROVED FOR CONSTRUCTION" BY THE CITY OF MERIDIAN ON SITE AT
ALL TIMES.
4. ALL CONTRACTORS, SUBCONTRACTORS, AND UTILITY CONTRACTORS SHALL ATTEND A PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE
PRIOR TO START OF WORK.
5. CONTRACTORS SHALL NOTIFY THE APPROPRIATE AGENCY WHEN MATERIALS ARE ON SITE OR INSPECTION OF THE WORK IS
REQUIRED. NO WORK MAY BEGIN ON ANY PROJECT WITHOUT TWENTY FOUR (24) HOUR PRIOR NOTICE.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE REQUIRED TESTING. THE
CONTRACTOR MAY NOT OPEN OR CLOSE FORCE MAIN VALVES.
7. ALL MATERIAL FURNISHED ON, OR FOR THE PROJECT MUST MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE APPROVING
AGENCIES. AT THE REQUEST OF THE APPROVING AGENCY OR THE DESIGN ENGINEER, CONTRACTORS SHALL FURNISH
PROOF THAT ALL MATERIALS INSTALLED ON THIS PROJECT MEET THE SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTE NO. 1.
8. WORK SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY ANY GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO (A) BACKFILLING
TRENCHES FOR PIPE; (B) PLACING OF AGGREGATE BASE; (C) PLACING OF CONCRETE; (D) PLACING OF ASPHALT PAVING.
9. INSPECTION, APPROVAL AND FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF ALL WATER AND SEWER CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE BY THE PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT, AND THEIR DECISION SHALL BE FINAL. SUCH INSPECTIONS SHALL NOT RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR
FROM THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PERFORMING THE WORK IN AN ACCEPTABLE MANNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
DEQ/QLPE APPROVED CONSTRUCTION PLANS.
10. ANY DEVIATION FROM THE APPROVED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS MUST HAVE THE APPLICABLE AGENCY APPROVAL IN
WRITING PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
11. PRIOR TO BEGINNING INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS, THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AN ELECTRICAL
PERMIT FROM THE BUILDING DIVISION OF THE MERIDIAN PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. ANY DEVIATION IN STREET LIGHT
LOCATIONS FROM THE APPROVED PLANS MUST BE APPROVED IN WRITING FROM THE CITY ENGINEER.
WATER
1. NOT USED.
SEWER
1. CONSTRUCTION OF THE SEWER SYSTEM SHALL CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS IN THE WASTEWATER RULES (IDAPA
58.01.16) AS WELL AS THE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS REFERRED TO IN GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTE NO. 1.
2. THE HORIZONTAL SEPARATION OF POTABLE WATER MAINS AND NON -POTABLE WATER MAINS (SANITARY SEWER, STORM
DRAIN, AND IRRIGATION) SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF TEN (10) FEET. WHERE IT IS NECESSARY FOR A POTABLE WATER
MAIN AND NON -POTABLE WATER MAIN TO CROSS WITH LESS THAN EIGHTEEN (18) INCHES OF VERTICAL SEPARATION,
THE CROSSING SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 542.07 OF THE IDAHO RULES FOR PUBLIC
DRINKING WATER SYSTEMS (IDAPA 58.01.08) AND SECTION 430.02 OF THE WASTEWATER RULES (IDAPA 58.01.16).
3. THE HORIZONTAL SEPARATION OF NON -POTABLE SERVICES AND POTABLE WATER SERVICES OR POTABLE WATER MAINS

CROSSES A STORM WATER TREATMENT FACILITY (I.E., SEEPAGE BEDS, DRAINAGE SWALES)
5. SEWER FORCE MAIN FLUSHING AND TESTING SHALL BE PREFORMED PER ISPWC SECTION 505.3.3.
6. SEWER LIFT STATION START UP WILL BE CONDUCTED PER CITY OF MERIDIAN PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT SEWER LIFT
STATION SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARD DRAWINGS, SECTION 512D.
ROADWAY
1. ALL CONTRACTORS WORKING WITHIN THE PUBLIC ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY ARE REQUIRED TO SECURE A RIGHT-OF-WAY
CONSTRUCTION PERMIT FROM ACHD OR ITD AT LEAST TWENTY-FOUR (24) HOURS PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION.
2. ACHD OR ITD WILL INSPECT ALL WORK WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHTS -OF -WAY TO INCLUDE UTILITY TRENCHES ABOVE THE
PIPE ZONE.
PRESSURIZED IRRIGATION
1. THE PRESSURIZED IRRIGATION SYSTEM MUST BE BUILT TO THE STANDARDS OF THE IRRIGATION DISTRICT IN WHICH IT IS
BEING CONSTRUCTED.
2. INSTALL A REDUCED PRESSURE BACKFLOW PREVENTER IN ANY CONNECTION BETWEEN THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AND
THE PRESSURE IRRIGATION SYSTEM. THE DEVICE MUST BE APPROVED BY THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
QUALITY (DEQ) AND THE CITY OF MERIDIAN WATER DEPARTMENT.
DRAINAGE
1. FOR ANY DRAINAGE FACILITIES WITHIN A PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY, ACHD OR ITD SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTION.
FOR ANY PRIVATE DRAINAGE FACILITIES THE PROJECT ENGINEER OR ARCHITECT SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTION
AND CERTIFICATION OF DRAINAGE FACILITIES; HOWEVER ANY ROOF DRAINAGE AND PIPING TO THE DRAINAGE FACILITIES
WILL BE INSPECTED BY THE MERIDIAN PLUMBING OFFICIAL UNDER THE APPROPRIATE PERMIT.
ASSET MANAGEMENT NOTES
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL ENTER RELEVANT INFORMATION FROM ALL EQUIPMENT WITH ASSET EQUIPMENT ID
NUMBERS INTO THE ASSET MANAGEMENT SPREADSHEET PROVIDED BY THE CITY. INFORMATION TO BE
ENTERED INCLUDES ASSET ID NUMBER MANUFACTURER NAME MODEL NUMBER SERIAL NUMBER
MANUFACTURED DATE INSTALLED DATE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO THE EQUIPMENT TYPE
AS DESCRIBED ON THE SPREADSHEET.
2. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THE SPREADSHEET IS FILLED OUT
COMPLETELY AND ACCURATELY. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT REQUIRED
ASSET MANAGEMENT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION; THE TYPE AND NATURE OF
INSTALLATION COULD LIMIT OR PREVENT COLLECTING SUCH INFORMATION.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL PHOTOGRAPH NAMEPLATE AND TRANSMIT TO THE CITY WITH THE COMPLETED
SPREADSHEET. THE PHOTOGRAPH MUST CLEARLY SHOW THE INFORMATION REQUESTED.
4. IF EQUIPMENT IS ADDED TO THE PROJECT NOT PREVIOUSLY ASSIGNED AN ASSET EQUIPMENT ID NUMBER
ON THE DESIGN PLANS, THEN IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO IDENTIFY SUCH EQUIPMENT
AND ENSURE THAT IT IS ASSIGNED AN ID NUMBER IN COORDINATION WITH THE CITY AND ENTERED INTO
THE SPREADSHEET.
5. THE COMPLETED SPREADSHEET AND PHOTOGRAPHS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH CONTRACTOR'S
APPLICATION REQUESTING PAYMENT ON THAT SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT. PAYMENT WILL NOT BE MADE UNTIL
THE ASSET MANAGEMENT SPREADSHEET AND PHOTOGRAPHS ARE RECEIVED AND VERIFIED TO BE
CORRECT BY THE CITY PROJECT MANAGER.
6. CONTRACTOR TO MEET WITH ASSET MANAGEMENT ON -SITE WHEN ALL ASSETS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED.
ASSET MANAGEMENT WILL LABEL AND VERIFY WITH CONTRACTOR ALL ASSETS WERE INSTALLED PER PLAN.
7. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE ASSET MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE
CONSIDERED INCIDENTAL TO THE PROJECT AND NO SEPARATE PAYMENT SHALL BE MADE BY THE CITY.
MERIDIAN STANDARD DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL AT ALL TIMES HAVE ON -SITE A COPY OF THE MOST -CURRENT EDITION OF THE
IDAHO STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION (ISPWC).
2. THE SUPPLEMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS THAT GOVERN THE PROJECT WILL BE THE MERIDIAN SUPPLEMENTAL
CONDITIONS IN AFFECT ON THE DATE THE PLANS WERE APPROVED FOR CONSTRUCTION.
3. ADDENDUMS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE CITY'S WEB SITE www.meridiancity.ora
4. ALL ADDENDUMS IN EFFECT AT THE TIMES THE PLANS ARE APPROVED MUST ALSO BE ADHERED TO.
5. IF THE CONTRACTOR DOES NOT HAVE A COPY OF THE CITY'S SUPPLEMENTAL SPECIFICATION ON THE JOB
SITE, IT COULD BE GROUNDS FOR A "STOP WORK" ORDER UNTIL THE SITUATION IS RESOLVED.
PROJECT GENERAL NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONSTRUCT ALL IMPROVEMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS STAMPED
"APPROVED FOR CONSTRUCTION" BY THE VARIOUS GOVERNING AGENCIES. THESE PLANS WILL BE
PROVIDED TO THE CONTRACTOR BY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. WORK SHALL NOT BE
DONE WITHOUT THE CURRENT SET OF APPROVED PLANS.
2. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS AND/OR REQUIREMENTS OF THE
CITY, ADA COUNTY HIGHWAY DISTRICT, THE LATEST EDITION OF THE IDAHO STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC
WORKS CONSTRUCTION (ISPWC), AND THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY. NO
EXCEPTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY AND PREVIOUSLY APPROVED IN WRITING BY ALL
APPROPRIATE ENTITIES.
3. WORK SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY ANY POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OR AGENCY MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO

4. THE LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ARE SHOWN IN AN APPROXIMATE WAY ONLY. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL DETERMINE THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES BY CALLING DIGLINE AT
PHONE # (80% 342-1585 BEFORE COMMENCING WORK. THE CONTRACTOR IS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR
ANY AN ALL DAMAGES TO EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES.

6. THE CONTOURS AND BENCHMARK ELEVATION ARE BASED ON THE NAVD 88 VERTICAL DATUM.
7. PROJECT BENCHMARKS SHALL BE ESTABLISHED THROUGHOUT THE SITE BY THE SURVEYOR AND WILL BE
PROVIDED TO THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL SURVEY MONUMENTS AND BENCHMARKS FROM DISTURBANCE
THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION. DAMAGED BENCHMARKS WILL BE REPLACED BY THE PROJECT SURVEYOR
AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE SAFETY
REQUIREMENTS OF ANY JURISDICTIONAL BODY. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL
BARRICADES, SAFETY DEVICES AND TRAFFIC CONTROL WITHIN AND AROUND THE CONSTRUCTION AREA.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LIMIT CONSTRUCTION ACCESS TO THE OWNER APPROVED ACCESS POINTS.
11. NO WORK SHALL BE DONE WITHIN JURISDICTIONAL WETLAND AREAS UNTIL A 404 PERMIT HAS BEEN
ISSUED BY THE US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS. ALL WORK WITHIN WETLAND AREAS SHALL ADHERE TO
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE 404 PERMIT.
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING DRAINAGE FACILITIES WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA
UNTIL THE PROPOSED DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ARE IN PLACE AND FUNCTIONING. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN AND THE
ROUGH GRADING PLAN.
13. ALL NATURAL SLOPES SHALL BE A MAXIMUM OF 2:1, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED ON THIS PLAN.
ASPHALT MINIMUM GRADE IS 1%. CONCRETE MINIMUM GRADE IS 0.4%. FINISH GRADE SHALL SLOPE AWAY
FROM ALL BUILDINGS.
14. WHERE NOTED, EXISTING TEST PITS/MONITORING WELLS SHALL BE RETAINED AND PROTECTED DURING
CONSTRUCTION.
15. ALL MATERIAL FURNISHED ON OR FOR THE PROJECT MUST MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE
APPROVING AGENCIES OR AS SET FORTH HEREIN, WHICHEVER IS MORE RESTRICTIVE. CONTRACTORS MUST
FURNISH PROOF THAT ALL MATERIALS INSTALLED ON THIS PROJECT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS AT THE
REQUEST OF THE AGENCY AND/OR THE ENGINEER.
GRADING NOTES
1. NO GRADING WORK SHALL OCCUR UNTIL THE OWNER HAS FILED A NOTICE OF INTENT FOR
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY WITH THE EPA.
2. ALL EARTHWORK INCLUDING CLEARING, GRUBBING, EXCAVATION, EMBANKMENT, BACKFILL, DEWATERING,
AND EROSION CONTROL SHALL MEET THE SPECIFICATIONS OF SECTION 200 OF THE ISPWC AS WELL
AS THE SPECIFICATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING REPORT.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING DRAINAGE FACILITIES WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AREA

6. PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF FILL MATERIAL, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE THE SUBGRADE AS
RECOMMENDED IN THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING REPORT. THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
CONSULTANT SHALL PERFORM INSPECTION AND TESTING OF THE SUBGRADE, ALONG WITH THE
PLACEMENT AND COMPACTION OF STRUCTURAL FILL AS RECOMMENDED IN THE GEOTECHNICAL
ENGINEERING REPORT.
DEMOLITION NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING DEMOLITION WITH THE APPROPRIATE PHASE OF
CONSTRUCTION.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DISPOSING OF ALL DEMOLISHED MATERIALS AT AN APPROVED
OFF -SITE LOCATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE MATERIALS AFTER
REMOVAL FROM THE SITE.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A WATER TRUCK, AS NECESSARY, FOR DUST ABATEMENT

INITIATING ANY CONSTRUCTION.

8. UTILITY STREET CUTS IN PAVEMENT LESS THAN FIVE YEARS OLD ARE NOT ALLOWED UNLESS APPROVED

NUMBERS) FOR DETAILS.
9. ACHD INSPECTION STAFF WILL BE MORE CLOSELY MONITORING PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES FOR COMPLIANCE
WITH ADA STANDARDS. AS A REMINDER, SIDEWALK CROSS SLOPE SHALL NOT EXCEED 2.0%; THERE ARE
NO 'TOLERANCES' ALLOWED.
10. ABANDONED TEST PITS OR WATERWAYS LOCATED WITHIN CURRENT OR FUTURE RIGHT-OF-WAY SHALL BE
RE -EXCAVATED TO NATIVE SOIL AND BACKFILLED WITH STRUCTURAL FILL PER ISPWC SPECIFICATIONS.
PROVIDE SOILS DATA TO VERIFY NATIVE MATERIAL MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGINEERED FILL PER
ISPWC SPECIFICATIONS AND A COPY OF THE COMPACTION TESTS.
11. PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF ANY PAVEMENT MARKINGS CONTACT ACHD INSPECTION FOR VERIFICATION OF

2. IF THE CUMULATIVE DAMAGED PAVEMENT AREA EXCEEDS 50% OF THE TOTAL ROAD SURFACE,
CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE THE ENTIRE ROADWAY SURFACE.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE THE PAVEMENT SURFACE TO ENSURE MATCH LINE DOES NOT FALL
WITHIN THE WHEEL PATH OF A LANE.MATCH LINE SHALL ONLY FALL IN THE CENTER OR EDGE OF A
TRAVEL LANE.
4. FLOWABLE FILL OR IMPORTED MATERIAL MAY BE REQUIRED IF THE NATIVE TRENCH MATERIAL IS
DEEMED UNSUITABLE BY ACHD INSPECTOR, DOES NOT MEET COMPACTION STANDARDS OR TIME IS A
CRITICAL FACTOR.
5. ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULES SHALL BE PRE -APPROVED IN WRITING BY DISTRICT STAFF
BEFORE CONSTRUCTION BEGINS.
TRAFFIC CONTROL NOTES
1. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST EDITION OF THE "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL
DEVICES" FOR STREETS AND HIGHWAYS.
2. ALL WARNING FLAGS AND FLASHERS SHALL BE CONSIDERED INCIDENTAL TO THE TRAFFIC CONTROL BID
ITEMS.
3. THE FLAGGERS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH TWO WAY RADIOS CAPABLE OF TRANSMITTING A DISTANCE OF
2 MILES AND BATTERIES TO LAST THROUGH EACH DAY OF OPERATION.
4. SIGNS AND SIGN STANDS NOT IN USE SHALL BE REMOVED OR LAID DOWN AT LEAST 15 FEET FROM
THE EDGE OF THE TRAVEL WAY.
5. ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC SHALL BE OPEN TO LOCAL TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL SIGNAGE NECESSARY TO ALERT THE SURROUNDING PUBLIC OF THE
CONSTRUCTION TAKING PLACE. THE CONTRACTOR ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SIGNS NEEDED
FOR PUBLIC SAFETY.
7. ALL CONTRACTORS WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY ARE REQUIRED TO SECURE A
RIGHT-OF-WAY CONSTRUCTION PERMIT FROM ACHD AT LEAST TWENTY-FOUR (24) HOURS PRIOR TO
ANY CONSTRUCTION.
B. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A DETAILED TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN TO ACHD FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO
ANY CONSTRUCTION.
IRRIGATION NOTES
1. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MOST CURRENT EDITION OF THE IDAHO
STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION (ISPWC).
2. IRRIGATION SERVICES SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED PER THE DETAIL ON THE IRRIGATION IMPROVEMENT
PLANS.
3. THE HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL SEPARATION OF THE POTABLE WATER AND NON -POTABLE PIPELINES
(SEWER, STORMDRAIN, IRRIGATION, AMENITY, ETC.) SHALL COMPLY WITH THE MOST CURRENT EDITION OF
THE IRPDWS AND AS DETAILED IN SECTION 405 - NON -POTABLE WATER LINE SEPARATION AND ISPWC
STANDARD DRAWING SD-407. IN CASE OF A DISCREPANCY, THE IRPDWS SHALL GOVERN.
4. GROUNDWATER LEVELS SHALL BE MAINTAINED BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE TRENCH DURING THE PIPE
LAYING AND PIPE JOINING OPERATIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A SHORT TERM ACTIVITY EXEMPTION
FROM DEQ PRIOR TO ANY DEWATERING.
5. ALL PRESSURE IRRIGATION AND AMENITY LINES SHALL BE PLACED IN THE GROUND WITH THE PIPE
INVERT BEING AT OR ABOVE THE ESTIMATED HIGH GROUNDWATER ELEVATION. FINISHED GRADE COVER
OVER PRESSURE IRRIGATION AND AMENITY LINES SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 30".
6. PIPE TRENCHING WILL OCCUR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ISPWC INSTALLATION OF PIPE BEDDING SHALL
CONFORM TO ISPWC CLASS A-1 COMPACTED TO 95% MAXIMUM DENSITY IN THE LOWER ZONES AND
95% IN THE UPPER ZONES (ASTM D698). BEDDING MATERIALS SHALL CONFORM TO ISPWC TYPE I
BEDDING MATERIALS. BACKFILL SHALL CONFORM TO TYPE A BACKFILL AND COMPLY WITH ISPWC
