To the Honorable Robert Simison, Mayor,
To the Members of the Meridian City Council, and
To the Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission:
In reference to the Kingstown Subdivision AZ, PP H-2022-0045, we would like to voice our concerns with this
overpopulated plat design submitted by the builders.
First, the builders have designated many of the homes to be built on 4000sf lots which as everyone knows is 1sf
from entering a higher density zoning.
Secondly, we already have been noticing more vehicle traffic using Alpine Pointe as a passthrough to get off
northbound N. Eagle Rd and unto westbound W. McMillan Rd via our local streets of N. Rosepoint Ave/ E.
Lacewood Dr./ Camas Creek Ave N. and others. This is true in the opposite direction too. In their attempt to
circumvent continuing on W. McMillan Rd and N. Eagle Rd, they seem to think our neighborhood is of similar
build, so they speed through our local streets to save some time at the risk of our safety. I know of one owner, a
current house on one of these streets, selling their home and moving north of the City of Eagle for just this
reason.
We are seeking for the builders to increase the lot sizes of the smallest lots of 4000sf to approximately meet the
neighboring lot sizes of 10800sf to the south and 12960sf to the north.
Seeing the statistics of how the City of Meridian is the densest city per sq. mile of any city in Idaho is truly an
eye opener. This really needs to stop. Our infrastructure cannot support this, and we need to follow the lead of
several nearby cities by putting a hold on new construction for a bit, but for now, at least stop high density
housing from being approved without looking at the long-term negative outcomes.
Thank you,
Michael and Natasha Cividanes
