Dear Mr. Parsons:
We are pleased to submit the enclosed Annexation and Rezone application for the existing Holy
Apostles Catholic Church parcel located at the southeast corner of N. Meridian Road and E. Chinden
Blvd.

S05302232O0 6300 N. Meridian Road 14.61 acres RUT in Ada County MU-C
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise owns the property. The southern parcel for the Saint Ignatius
School, also owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise, was annexed and zoned C-C in the City of
Meridian in May 10, 2016. Due to budget concerns and the critical timeline of the school needing to
open for students by the fall of 2017, we separated the church parcel from the school parcel's
annexation application. We committed, at that time, to annex the church parcel 'in the near future.'
We are following through with that commitment.
The property is currently zoned RUT in Ada County. The property is in the Meridian Impact Area and
has a future land use designation of MU-C (Mixed Use Commercial). We propose to annex the 14.61-
acre parcel to the City of Meridian with a C-C (Community Commercial) zoning designation.
The property is bounded by Meridian Road to the west; Saint Ignatius School, zoned C-C, to the south;
a Zamzows retail store, zoned RUT in Ada County, to the east; and Chinden Blvd to the north.
The property is developed with a church and associated parking and landscaping improvements, a
single-family home, and mobile office used for a charity food pantry, also exist on the parcel. The
existing structures and site improvements on the parcel will remain. No new structures are proposed
with this application.

New site improvements include a 10' multi - use pathway along the Chinden Blvd frontage . The
buildings will continue to be served by Suez for water, but will connect to the City of Meridian for
sewer services .
The property is currently, and is proposed to continue , to be accessed via an existing direct access to
Meridian Road , and an existing direct access to Chinden Blvd at the east side of the property . ACHD
has confirmed that a traffic study is not required .

COMMITMENT OF PROPERTY POSTING
Per Unified Development Code (UDC) 11 -5A- 5D , the applicant for all applications requiring a
public hearing (except for a UDC text amendment, a Comprehensive Plan text amendment
and/or vacations) shall post the subject property not less than ten ( 10 ) days prior to the hearing .
The applicant shall post a copy of the public hearing notice of the application(s) on the property
under consideration .
The applicant shall submit proof of property posting in the form of a notarized statement and a
photograph of the posting to the City no later than seven (7) days prior to the public hearing
attesting to where and when the sign (s) were posted . Unless such Certificate is received by the
required date, the hearing will be continued .
The sign(s) shall be removed no later than three (3 ) days after the end of the public hearing for
which the sign(s) had been posted .
I am aware of the above requirements and will comply with the posting requirements as stated in
UDC 11 -5A- 5 .
