City Staff present was Cassandra Schiffler, Arts and Culture Coordinator, Kim Warren, MPR
Pathways Project Manager, Renee White, MPR Special Events Coordinator. Also present
was Meridian Parks and Recreation Commissioner Jen Bobo.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES [ACTION ITEM]
1. Approve Public Art Committee Meeting Minutes from 5-17-22
L. Taylor motioned to approve the minutes. R. Wardle seconded. All ayes.

2. Selection Panel Review and Choose Four Finalists: RFQ Applications for Five
Mile Creek Pathway Trailhub Public Art ~ Bobby Gaytan, PAC Chair; Jessica Peters,
PAC Lizzie Taylor, PAC; Raeya Wardle, PAC Youth Commissioner; Kim Warren, MPR
Pathways Project Manager; Renee White, MPR Special Events Coordinator ; Jen Bobo,
MPR Commissioner
C. Schiffler presented the selection panel’s averaged score results for the 32 RFQ
applicants, in order of highest scores to lowest scores. Many of the averaged scores
were very close in scoring, and so the selection panel reviewed each of the top
quarter of the applications for consideration. Discussion of the applicants included
the applicant’s qualifications, previous projects, and previous project’s budgets in
relation to the $50,000 budget for this project. Also considered current artwork in
Meridian’s collection by local artists, and the selection panel decided not to
recommend artists that already have a strong presence of artwork in the Treasure
Valley, as they would like to see representation in the public art collection by a
variety of artists. After discussing each application of the top applicants, a vote was
proposed on the six applications that seemed to be most favorable, and by a show

of hands, the following four finalists were selected to move forward to the RFP
stage: Andrew Kovacs, Eileen Gay, Michael McLaughlin, and Steve Parker.
J. Peters motioned to move forward with the selection panel’s choice of finalists. R.
Wardle seconded. All ayes.
NEXT MEETING - Meeting Date, August 16, 2022
As no items are currently pending for the subcommittee, it was decided to cancel the
July Public Art Committee meeting, and the next meeting will be August 16.

Initial Point Gallery subcommittee minutes
June 16,2022
The meeting of the IPG subcommittee was called to order by committee chair, Natalie Schofield
at 3:00 p.m. June 16, 2022.
Roll Call: Lizzie Taylor, Natalie Schofield, Bonnie Griffith, committee members and Cassandra
Schiffler, Arts and Culture Coordinator were present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made to adopt the minutes from the 4-11-22 meeting was made by
Commissioner B Griffith; seconded by Commissioner L. Taylor. All ayes. Minutes of the 4-11-22
meeting were approved.
ACTION ITEMS:
Review and Jury 2023 IPG artist submissions:
C. Schiffler presented the averaged score results for artist submissions, in order of
highest scores to lowest, and reviewed the amount of space and how many artists could fit into
the 2023 calendar year. A motion was called for by Chairman N. Scofield to accept the artists
per the results of scoring for 2023 gallery exhibits. Commissioner L. Taylor made the motion to
accept the list of artists; seconded by Commissioner B. Griffith. All ayes. Motion carried.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
C. Schiffler presented a proposed calendar draft outline of the 2023 show schedule with themes
of shows and possible artist scheduling within the monthly exhibits. C. Schiffler will confirm
with artists that the proposed schedule will be agreeable to the artists. Further discussion and
finalization of show schedule will take place at the next IPG subcommittee meeting August 18,
2022.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman N. Schofield asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting at 3:29 p.m. Commissioner L.
Taylor made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner B. Griffith. All ayes. Motion
carried.
Next meeting of the IPG Subcommittee is scheduled for 8 -18-22 at 10 a.m. MDT.
