Mayor Simison and City Council Members, I am writing this correspondence as a neighbor to Friendship Subdivision and developer of Birkdale Estates which is located adjacent to the subject development. I am in opposition to what Mike Homan has submitted for approval and have expressed this through out the process. I believe that Planning and Zoning was correct in how they responded to the development. They denied approval and requested that the applicant go to R4 instead of R8. I believe that this is the best approach for this site because they are next to R2 and R4 zonings. I am not in opposition of the development of this land. I work for a development company myself and am pro-development. But I do believe that the density at R8 is too high for this parcel. I also learned this week that the developer did not properly sign all areas to the site. There are signs at two locations but the developer neglected to place a sign at Lockhart on the west side in the Birkdale Estates subdivision. This should have happened months ago and never did. I believe that all developers should be held to the same standards and follow the city rules and guidelines. I have attached a picture of the area that does not and never did have a sign on it.
