Schiffler presented the tentative 2022 Initial Point Gallery Schedule. A few artists agreements remain unsigned and C. Schiffler is following up with them, and a new group for September was presented, as the September group show fell through. The College of Western Idaho has expressed interest in a faculty show. Subcommittee members were in agreement, and C. Schiffler will offer an acceptance agreement to the College of Western Idaho Faculty. The opening reception dates still have some host spots to fill, and C. Schiffler will ask Commissioners to volunteer at the MAC meeting. The WASD show in May has not had an opening reception in the past years, but no subcommittee member were sure why. B. Griffith stated that it would be a well attended show and L. Taylor agreed. C. Schiffler will reach out to the contact person and see if WASD is open to a show reception in May. ACTION ITEMS 4. Discuss Initial Point Gallery September Show Artists and Approve Revised Opening Reception Date of September 9, 2022 The September opening reception is currently scheduled the Friday September 2, before Labor Day. This Friday before Labor Day has had a poor attendance in past years. An alternate opening reception date was considered for the following Friday September 9, to coincide with Art Week activities. However, the Friday of Art Week was the Community Art Party, centered at Kleiner Park, last year. Thursday September 8th was considered as it would coincide with Meridian Art Foundation’s Art Sip. C. Schiffler will reach out to the Meridian Art Foundation to confirm their date and plans for Art Sip to coordinate planning. The subcommittee agreed to put the item on the Events and Outreach subcommittee agenda, as the subcommittee will be discussing and planning Art Week activities. 5. The proposed timeline for the call will be for the call to be released shortly after the March approval, open in April and May, with the selection panel meeting in June, and notices to be sent in July. 7. Discussion of Subcommittee Meeting Frequency and Functional Needs The subcommittee discussed the need for meeting frequency. L. Taylor stated that could go either way, and didn’t think the subcommittee needed to meet more often. B. Griffith noted that most time intensive Initial Point Gallery subcommittee meeting is always the selection panel meeting for the following year’s calendar. L. Taylor suggested a longer Saturday meeting for that selection panel. N. Schofield asked when the subcommittee should meet again, and C. Schiffler suggested April, in order to discuss targeted advertising and promoting the call to various artists, groups, emails, etc. NEXT MEETING – April 14, 2022 2:00pm ADJOURNMENT L.
