CC - Narrative BRIGHTON January 18, 2022 C. Caleb Hood, Planning Division Manager Community Development Services Meridian City Hall Re: Rackham East Subdivision— Council Review Dear Mr. Hood: As part of our Rackham East Subdivision applications (H-2021-0075), we requested Alternative Compliance to UDC 11-4-3-27B.3, to allow for a reduction in the private useable open space that is required per unit. Our request is to reduce the private open space per unit as follows: • Studio units: Zero (0) s.f. • 1-bedroom units: 54-60 s.f. (67.5%-75%of the standard) • 2-bedroom units: 58-85 s.f. (68%-106% of the standard) The Director did not approve our request, but rather proposed an arbitrary 20%reduction as a compromise for a total of(64 s.f. of private open space)being required per unit. We feel that the reduction in private open space is warranted based on the extraordinary site amenities we have proposed for the site, the unit type and mix, and the innovative and integrated design of the internal open space. We request that Council make a determination in favor of our above request. For Brighton et al, Jos Beach Assistant Project Manager—Entitlement Brighton Development Inc. 2929 W.
