HOAGLUN,PERREAULT,STRADER
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING MERIDIAN CITY CODE SECTION 1-7-6,REGARDING
CITY COUNCIL LIAISON APPOINTMENTS, DUTIES, AND TERM; AMENDING
MERIDIAN CITY CODE SECTION 2-1-1(C)(10),REGARDING CITY STAFF SUPPORT
FOR COMMISSIONS; ADOPTING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the language of Meridian City Code section 1-7-6, relating to City Council
liaisons, requires updates in order to be consistent with other provisions of City Code and City
policies; and
WHEREAS,the City Council finds this ordinance to be in the best interest of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN,ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That Meridian City Code section 1-7-6 shall be amended as follows:
1-7-6. . City Council liaison appointments,
duties, and term.
A.Assignment. The President of the City Council after conferring with the Mayor and City
Council shall appoint a City Council member to be Council liaison of each of the city
departments.
B.Duties. It shall be the duty of each Council liaison to:
1 Generally. it shall be the du4y of eaeh Couneil Baas, to eCommunicate the desires and
interests of the City Council to that department, and vice versa, from the department to
the Council, all as they shall deem to be in the best interests of the department and the

C. Term. Council liaison assignments shall be made annually or as needed if there is a due to
vacancy.
Section 2. That Meridian City Code section 2-1-1(C)(10) shall be amended as follows:

designee; shall be assigned to each commission to provide legal advice and oversight, and a
designated staff member fef support shall be assigned to each commission to provide
administrative and operational support.
Section 3 . That all City of Meridian ordinances, or resolutions , or parts thereof, which are
in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed .
Section 4 . That this ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and
publication .
