The development challenge is to out-guess the plat-naming conventions.Two preliminary plats were approved last year
as depicted in the attachment:Apex Northwest and Apex Southeast. They were separate pre-plats due to the
intervening public ROW.
First phase final plats for each are in process and have been approved by the Meridian city Council.Thus, they are "on-
the-way"to your office—or will be shortly.
Apex West is being used to delineate the expanded project area. Phases of Apex West will be final platted as Apex
Northwest No.XXX.

From our perspective, since none of the Apex development has been submitted to our office to date, and the
preliminary plat that was attached to the Apex West request indicates that there are other subdivision names (Apex
Northwest&Apex Southeast) that have not been requested or reserved by our office and apparently already have had a
street name evaluation done by the Ada County Street Name Committee, this has the potential to be the same Idaho
Code/Ada County Name Policy situation that occurred with Hills Century Farm North/ Hills Century Farm Commercial,
and TM Crossing/TM Creek/TM Center developments.

This name can be provisionally reserved, however it is still subject to the original reservation letter(attached)for Apex
Subdivision which specifically stated that since this development covers multiple sections;
"Depending on the size and order of phase development, the name APEX may not be available to use if the subsequent
Apex phases do not touch each other."
At your request, I will provisionally reserve the name Apex West Subdivision for your project. This area is a
portion of the area previously identified in the Apex Subdivision reservation, however it does include one new parcel
(R7824220042).
The name is provisionally reserved subject to the following restrictions;
• Idaho Code 50-1307.
• Ada County Subdivision Name Policy.
• Conditions outlined in the Apex Subdivision name reservation dated 11/17/2017.
1 can honor this reservation only as long as your project is in the approval process. Final approval can only take place
when the final plat is recorded.
This reservation is available for the project as long as it is in the approval process unless the project is terminated by the
client, the jurisdiction or the conditions of approval have not been met, in which case the name can be re-used by
someone else.
