Simison Strader Liz Perreault Jessica Brad Hoaglun CavenerLuke Borton Joe BerntTreg City Council Members: November 8, 2021 VIA HAND DELIVERY AND EMAIL bwong@achdidaho.org sspencer@achidaho.org ADA COUNTY HIGHWAY DISTRICT Attn: Board of Commissioners Attn: Bruce Wong, Executive Director 318 East 37th Street Boise, Idaho 83714 RE: Urban Renewal Plan for the Linder District Urban Renewal Project Dear President Goldthorpe: Enclosed is a copy of a formal notice that will be published in the Idaho Press on November 12 and 26, 2021, advising that the Meridian City Council will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers located in the Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Avenue, Meridian, Idaho, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., to consider adoption of the Urban Renewal Plan for the Linder District Urban Renewal Project (the “Plan”) of the Urban Renewal Agency of Meridian, Idaho, also known as Meridian Development Corporation (the “MDC”). Following the public hearing, the City Council will consider an ordinance adopting the Plan. In compliance with Idaho Code § 50-2906, this letter serves as notice to you that the Plan contains a revenue allocation provision and that MDC recommends approval of the Plan. As a portion of the Plan area extends beyond the city limits of the City of Meridian (the “City”), the City contemplates entering into a separate intergovernmental agreement with Ada County to address those areas outside the City limits, as may be required by Idaho Code § 50-2906(3). Ada County has already adopted a resolution declaring the need for an urban renewal project for the Linder District Area. This letter also serves as formal submission of the Plan for your review and comment under Idaho Code § 40-1415(3). Please provide your written comments within thirty (30) days. A copy of the Plan and MDC Resolution No. 21-053 adopted by the MDC Board on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, are enclosed, along with the map and legal description (if you are receiving this letter via email, copies of all of the referenced documents can be located at https://bit.ly/linderURD). A copy of the Plan is also available at City Hall for your review. You are encouraged to provide your comments, either in writing or at the public hearing. In the event you would like to schedule a separate meeting to discuss the Plan, representatives of the City will make themselves available to explain the Plan.
