Miranda,
Looks like the Mayor responded to your email. We can't discuss this application unless it's on the public
record. Honestly, I don't know anything about it. Thank you for your interest. Talk soon...!

Hello again all,
I am reaching back out due to the posted sign for the city council meeting on Nov 9th regarding the lot across
from the other vacant lot that we discussed previously.
Our neighborhood is adamantly against any residential community that involves apartments or community
living in that aspect. Can you please let me know what is defined by commercial and residential uses? The
2
absolute last thing we need in this area is more aparentments. Traffic is awful and there is no stop light to
pullout on to ustick road, the road is already filled with people using it as a parking lot and as discussed before
there is no room for the patrons at the park as it is.
What is the proposed plan as it stands now? Also, is this property not owned by WASD?
Thank you,
Miranda Cotten

Yes, I think you’ve covered it well. I’ve met with the school district’s facilities rep earlier this year and they
are aware of our interest in a future partnership on the property, particularly for overflow parking for the

Miranda,
Thank you for reaching out and asking the question.
You are correct that at one time the school district contemplated selling the property. Since then they have
determined the do plan to retain the site for a future school at this location. In our conversations with them,
they have indicated that if/when the site is built with a school, they plan to place the parking near/adjacent
the park so they lot can be utilized for overflow parking for the ballfields.
I have also copied our Parks and Recreation Director to this email should there be any additional information
to share related to this issue.
Respectfully,
Mayor Robert Simison

Good Afternoon,
I hope this email finds you all well. I am emailing you to inquire about the possibility of purchasing the land
next to Settlers Park that the West Ada School District currently owns.
It has come to my attention that last year, WASD tried to sell this land to a developer who would have built
apartments. I want to clarify that my subdivision(Cedar Springs) is not interested in having another set of
apartments put in at this location. We do not have the space for the parking that would come with it.
We would actually be more interested in the City of Meridian purchasing the land, extending parking and the
baseball fields, and possibly putting in a new dog park. The parking situation during baseball season is a large
issue over here, and we could benefit from the extra space. Not only that, but a dog park would also be
beneficial since there is not currently one close to this part of town.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Please let me know if I can take any further action to ensure that
WASD does not sell to housing developers.
