Hi Jeff, I’m the one that is reviewing the Arby’s remodel design review.
Do you know of an Arby’s where the exact template you are proposing has already been completed?
We’d really like to see a photo.
The present Arby’s has red canopies that project off the walls along the western half of the building.
This proposal removes the canopies along the sides and replaces them with a painted on stripe. We
don’t intend to require an existing building to meet the entire architectural standards just for some
façade upgrades and painting. However, removing the canopies along the sides and not replacing
them with a similar architectural element brings this further out of compliance with the Architectural
Standards Manual (ASM) which is something that the City can enforce. I recommend you consider
carrying those metal canopy bands around the sides to the back, or propose something comparable
to replace the canopies you are removing. Painting a red band isn’t going to comply.
And help me understand the color scheme. On the northern elevation I see pure white, with just a
portion of it brown at the front and the red stripe. Is this correct, only the front and a portion of the
base on the northern elevation is brown?
On the southern elevation I see the same thing except the drive through area is also brown. Are you
really proposing to only paint the front brown, except for the drive through area?
