AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN AMENDING SECTION 3
CHAPTER 4 TITLE 6 OF THE MERIDIAN CITY CODE BY PROVIDING FOR
A NEW HEADING AND FOR THE ADDITION THERETO TO INCLUDE
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE
FOLLOWING BEER, WINE AND DISTILLED SPIRITS; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:
SECTION 1: That Section 3 Chapter 4 of Title 6, Meridian City Code, be, and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
6-4-3: MINOR IN CONSUMPTION OR POSSESSION: It
shall be unlawful for any person to procure, sell,_or give
........... ~-^^0 furnish, an alcoholic beverage, including
but not limited to any distilled spirits, beer or wine, to any
person under the age of twenty one (21 ) years: or for any
person under the age of twenty one (21) years to purchase,
attempt to purchase or otherwise procure, consume or have
in his possession any bccr alcoholic beverage.
SECTION 2: All ordinances, resolutions, orders or parts thereof in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed, rescinded and annulled.
SECTION 3: VALIDITY: The Meridian City Council hereby declares that any
section, paragraph, sentence or word of this Ordinance as adopted and amended
herein be declared for any reason to be invalid it is the intent of the Meridian City
Council that it would have passed all other portions of this ordinance independent of
the elimination herefrom of any portion as may be declared invalid.
SECTION 4: DATE OF EFFECT: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect within one (1) month after its passage, approval and publication, according to
law.
