NW Fire Station # 8 & Police Precinct

The following is a project narrative for the proposed construction of a fire station and police precinct for the City
of Meridian located at 4250 N . Owyhee Storm Avenue ( Fire Station ) and 4232 N . Owyhee Storm Avenue
( Police Precinct) , which the city owns the land .
The proposed constructed stations are to be built on parcel # R3030121800 , Lot 2 , Block 6 , Gander Creek
South Subdivision No 01 . The land consists of 4 acres . The lot shows zoned as R- 8 .
The project consists of a separate approximate 11 , 200 SF fire station building and an approximate 11 , 000 SF
police precinct building . The fire station will consist of living quarters , kitchen , restrooms , office and meeting
space , fitness room and apparatus areas . The police precinct will consist of office and meeting space , briefing
room , interview rooms , break area , fitness / locker rooms and a contained sally port with intake room . The
proposed stations will provide essential public safety services to the community .
The building ' s exterior and landscaping will be designed to meet current City design standards as much as
possible while maintaining necessary elements of a fire station and police precinct that have specific
requirements .
Both buildings will have their own trash enclosure . A generator enclosure will be shared between the two
buildings . Shared public parking will be provided on - site with additional unsecured and secured parking for
employees . The police precinct ' s secured parking will be by suitable fencing and a gate system .
