RE: Urban Renewal Plan for the Northern Gateway District
Urban Renewal Project (Option B)
Dear Sir or Madam:
Enclosed is a copy of a formal notice that will be published in the Idaho Press on
October 15 and 29, 2021, advising that the Meridian City Council will hold a public hearing at
the Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Avenue, Meridian, Idaho, on Tuesday, November 23,
2021, at 6:00 p.m., to consider adoption of the Urban Renewal Plan for the Northern
Gateway District Urban Renewal Project (Option B) (the “Plan”) of the Urban Renewal
Agency of Meridian, Idaho, also known as Meridian Development Corporation (“MDC”). At that
time the City Council will consider the second reading of an ordinance adopting the Plan. The
Plan differs from the Urban Renewal Plan for the Northern Gateway District Urban Renewal
Project (Option A) in that the proposed revenue allocation area does not include the
approximately 17-acre parcel north of W. Cherry Lane and west of N. Meridian Road that is
currently pending annexation into the city of Meridian.
In compliance with Idaho Code § 50-2906, this letter serves as notice to you that the
Plan contains a revenue allocation provision and that MDC recommends approval of the Plan.
A copy of the Plan and MDC Resolution No. 21-037 adopted by the MDC Board on
Wednesday, September 22, 2021, are enclosed, along with the map and legal description (if
you are receiving this letter via email, copies of all of the referenced documents can be located
at \[insert link\]). A copy of the Plan is also available at City Hall for your review. You are
encouraged to provide your comments, either in writing or at the public hearing.
In the event you would like to schedule a separate meeting to discuss the Plan,
representatives of the City will make themselves available to explain the Plan.
Sincerely,
