RE: 3755 W. Perugia St., Elevate Self Storage Franklin - Security Narrative
Dear Mr. Hatch:
This letter is regarding the security plan for the Elevate Self Storage Franklin project. As with the
completed Elevate Self Storage project at 3535 Records, Meridian (Elevate Ustick), our intent is to
provide a facility that is safe and secure. This is important for us as owners as well as to our customers.
The project will have the same security features of Elevate Ustick which are lighted and highly visible
corridors and areas, security cameras, monitored access, approved/limited access, and security monitors.
This project is a fortress style facility, meaning that the facility has a walled effect. This provides a
barrier to the public facing areas. Access will be through gates and the office. The office will have a
manager that will keep the office open when in use. The gate will be accessed only by customers or
emergency personnel. Our facilities use a NOKE system which is a proprietary system that uses
Bluetooth technology for access. This is provided as an application on a cell phone or through a RFID
card. The benefit of the NOKE system is that only those that are permitted to enter will be able to do so.
There is no code sharing, so the ability to use someone else’s code to access the facility is eliminated.
Additionally, the software will alert management and the tenant of any unauthorized access to the unit.
Once inside the gate, there are drive aisles that provide access to the drive-up units. These drive aisles are
large and well lit. There are also cameras that cover all the aisles to see where, when, and who is onsite.
The video is stored on a cloud-based system that is accessible by management from anywhere (onsite or
off). Additionally, the camera’s video is broadcast on televisions that are mounted in the office. The
manager has 24-7 access to all cameras and notifications.
The interior two-story building will be accessed by the same NOKE system where only the tenants with
units in the building can unlock the door. There will be cameras in the building, including the doorways
and the hallways.
Finally, there is fire alarm monitoring. The facility will have its fire alarm system monitored by a third-
party vendor for any fire related emergencies. This will include a fire control panel that will likely be
placed in the manager’s office. As with any facility that has gates and locks, there will be Knox boxes for
emergency access to areas as well as emergency switch sensors for gate access.
All the systems and equipment discussed above will be in the final permit plans and part of the
construction documents.

Ryan Montoya
