Lake Hazel Road The proposed project will contain a new Emergency Services Campus consisting of one new fire station and one police precinct building,to serve the growing needs of the City of Meridian. The project is expected to be built in two phases;phase one, Fire station portion along with the perimeter landscaping,and phase two will be the police station. The Fire Station will be approximately 11,200sf in area,containing 6 sleep rooms with adjoining living area,gym,a three-bay fire apparatus garage and support areas. The Police Precinct is approximately 10,500sf in area and containing police work areas, public lobby, interview rooms,locker room facilities,gym,and a sally port.This facility will not be used for incarceration. The project site is approximately 4 acres in size and is located at 2385 E.Lake Hazel Road. Access to the site will be from a new intersection and road along the east property boundary that will provide access to the expansion of Discovery Park.The new roadway has been named South Recreation Avenue and will have controlled access via a new intersection signal. Parking for the fire station will consist of 17 stalls for employees and 7 public parking spaces.The employee parking will be accessed through a curb cut dedicated for emergency vehicles and personnel only,the public parking will be access thorough a second curb cut that is shared with the police precinct. The parking for the police precinct contains 40 secured stalls for both patrol cars and employee parking,and an additional 11 stalls for public parking at the front of the building.
