Project: St. Luke’s Pharmacy Kiosk
Location: St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center
520 S Eagle Rd, Meridian, ID 83642
This project will build a 209 sq ft Pharmacy Kiosk building in front of the Hospital. This building
will house self-service pharmacy prescription pick-up kiosk(s). This is part of a new service that
St. Luke’s is providing that will allow clients to pick-up their prescriptions without having to
enter the Medical Center if they choose.
The design of the building is to have a minimal footprint while complementing the existing
Medical Center. An 8” concrete curb runs around the base of the building to provide a solid
water barrier at the base of the building. The storefront windows along the front and down
both sides of the building, will be color matched to the existing Medical Center. The purpose of
these windows is to allow patrons to see if anyone is currently using the kiosk while also
allowing them to see who is outside the building while they exit the building. A thin brick
veneer makes up the body of the building. This thin brick will be a blend that matches the
existing Medical Center. Above the storefront and thin brick will be EIFS that is color matched
to the existing Medical Center.
The roof of the structure will be a single sloped shed roof with the high side at the front of the
building and sloping towards the rear. An overhang of 12” along the sides and rear of the
building and with a 36” overhang along the front of the building, will keep any rainwater away
from the building and patrons. The roof will be a standing seam metal panel roof system that
color matches other metal elements on the existing Medical Center. The eaves and soffit metal
panels will match the metal roof panels. The re will be a small awning with a depth of 36” above
the entry door to provide patrons a reference to where to enter the building.
Exterior lighting on the building will be located at the front and rear of the building. This
exterior lighting will provide plenty of light for security around the building as well and lighting
required along the path of travel for patrons. There will be an exterior electrical panel located
at the rear of the building, this panel will be painted to match the thin brick so that it will not
stand out from the building but be easily located if needed for service. An exterior mechanical
louver will also be located at the rear of the building and will also be painted to match the thin
brick. The mechanical equipment will be located internally of the building. With providing all
utility services on the rear of the building, this minimizes the visual impact to tho se passing in
front of the building.
The parking for this project will be provided by existing parking on the Medical Campus. Existing
landscaping will be adjusted around the building to meet the city requirements for landscaping.
