PROGRAM REPORT
1. Meridian Station Transfer Station - R Klein described the news signs that have been posted.
There has been a decrease in contamination but they still have small amounts they remove.
The signs look smaller than anticipated once they were out up. R Klein indicated they will
probably make larger signs.
2. Recycle a Bicycle Update - 4:30 pm Tuesday June 1 will be a repair the bikes day and R Klein
invited any who could help to come out. They have paired with Meridian Elementary will be
receiving the bikes. It was also mentioned Nampa has received bikes to assist those in need to
receive a bike and use it for work transportation
3. Squishy Water Bottle Pilot Project Outcomes - R Klein commented the pilot bin has not been
hauled yet as it is only 1/3 full. The lack of hauling has left funds available to continue the

All Materials presented at public meetings shall become property of the City of Meridian
project passed the end of June which was the original end date. The commission agreed to
continue the pilot until the end of the summer. Republic offered to pay for any shortage of
funds if that does occur by the end of the fiscal year.
4. Trash or Treasure/Spring Clean Up Update -There was a great turnout this year. 899 houses
participated in Trash or Treasure up from 470 last year. There was a strong social media push
and two call m alls this year. Pictures of items put out were displayed. Some house put out
too many items for Spring cleanup, with many unacceptable items such as car parts, fence
posts with cement or pianos. The event was too big for all of the pick up to be done within one
week. A second week is suggested to be added next year with the split be done to match
customers recycling week. Additional efforts will be done to better communicate acceptable
items for Spring Cleanup.
5. Eagle/Meridian Glass Hauling - R Klein described how Meridian recycled glass goes to Utah to
be recycled into fiber glass. There is no limit from the recycler. Eagle has singed up to have
their glass take taken there as well. A second trailer will be added to the truck that transports
which would decrease Meridian hauling costs by 50%. The commission agreed to combine
both.
