Subject:PROPOSED ORDINANCE CHANGES TO ALLOW RV PARKING ON RESIDENTIAL
PROPERTY

Mr. Mayor and members of the City Council:
We reside at 5780 N. Bolsena Ave. and we are writng to voice our objection to the proposal that
would allow one RV type vehicle to be parked in a front yard
of a residence. The adobtion of this proposed change to allow the parking of a licensed RV in the
front of a residence without doubt will be unattractive at
best and more likely an eyesore for those living beside and across the street.
A person could simply dump a load of gravel in their front yard and then pull up a large RV, boat
trailer or other type vehicle, next to the residence. There is
absolutely no way that this, if permitted, will not detract from the adjacent properties. The last thing
we want to do is look out our front window and see a large
RV parked in our neighbors yard.
When we pruchased our home here in 2016, we carefully selected a subdivision with strong CCRs
and HOA, the reason is we have seen what happens to
subdivisions that permited exactly what has been proposed. First, it's one licensed vehicle then the
vehicle breaks down in the yard and there it sits.
Then another shows up, enforcement becomes non existent and what was once a nice neighborhood
becomes not the place you once lived.
We understand the issues people face with parking. We rent additional parking from a storage
company. It is not convenient but there is no way I want an RV
parked in our front yard or any front yard. We have a beautiful city, lets keep it that way.
We pray that the current ordinance remains as written.
Respectfully,
Jeffery A. Wertz and
Elsie Wertz
