I will be tuning into the City Council Meeting on 7/6/21 to hear comments about the Recreational Vehicle zoning. My opinion: Maintain Current City Code Many HOA’s have rules embedded in CCR’s to limits on-street parking and any recreational vehicle other than in a garage. We moved into a neighborhood specifically because of these “clean neighborhood rules and have benefited from the visible quality that comes from good neighbors who observe the HOA CCR’s, not to mention increased property values and safer walking on sidewalks, and biking in the street. Permanent or temporary RV’s parked in driveways rarely fit well. I walk almost every evening and often have to walk around hitches, bumpers or ‘bump-outs’ left open. In the Fall/Winter months when its darker out, these extensions can be dangerous to shins and knees. For Meridian as a community, we all benefit from this code. Having lived in many communities around the country, those who don’t have codes on street, driveway or yard storage of large vehicles have unsightly and unsafe neighborhoods that lose aesthetic appeal. Please note that I have a trailer that I keep in a garage, so I am aware of the space and cost for having a luxury item. - Stan Larson Debbie Larson 3718 W Vanderbilt Drive, Meridian, ID 836467 (208) 315 5848 1
