To the Meridian City Council,
Thank you for taking time to read input from the public regarding a proposed change to the
code regarding RV parking. I am against allowing RVs to be parked on the street yard of a
private property without being screened.
I live on a corner lot with my backyard facing my neighbor's side-facing garage and
driveway. This neighbor actually has two garages and two driveways to access each
garage. My neighbor will park their RV in the side driveway (which can be considered a
street yard) for days, and sometimes weeks, at a time. This driveway (street yard) is one
foot taller than the grade of my backyard, therefore, the RV seems to tower above the 6-foot
fence separating our property. I've attached a couple photos to show you what I look at out
my living room window across my patio and backyard. If this code changes, my neighbor
will be able to park their RV there full-time.
Maybe the proposed change to this code would be fine if a lot size is a minimum of one-half
(0.5) acres. Many properties in Meridian are simply too small to accommodate an RV, and
for an RV to sit in plain view unscreened on a property is simply an eye-sore.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Julia Miller
