Hi, I would like to make comments about potential changes to city code with regard to recreational vehicles. I firmly, vehemently disagree with allowing RV’s and recreational toys to be stored in front of fences in front yards of homes in Meridian. Also, I disagree with the suggestion that CC&R‘s cannot override this city code. I live in a very nice neighborhood with homes valued over a half a million dollars and more, where the CC&R’s prohibit this. One reason I chose this neighborhood is because of the tight CC&R’s. I lived in a neighborhood where RV’s were permitted in front of fences and the neighborhood looked like a trailer park. My current neighborhood has so many people with RV’s and Recreational Toys and during the season they are often already parked in driveways and on the streets getting ready for the weekend or following the weekend…every weekend…and often blocking sidewalks, parked right at corners so it is hard to see oncoming cars, etc. Usually, in the vicinity of the RV, there are various accoutrements (ice chests, storage containers, bicycles, seadoos, four wheelers, boats, wires, cables, hoses, etc.) related to RVing, lying around and looking like piles of junk. The windows reflect onto the windows of homes which is not okay. I paid for my home knowing that this wasn’t going to happen and…now it is? And it will be permitted year round? Please do not approve this change to city code. If people can afford all these toys, they can afford to store them somewhere off site, out of sight! Thank you for listening!
